Install

1. Docker with the Compose plugin (github.com/langflow-ai/langflow/blob/3ec974b/docker_example/README.md)

   A host with Docker and the Docker Compose plugin. This entry runs from a compose file.

2. Save the compose file as docker-compose.yml (github.com/langflow-ai/langflow/blob/3ec974b/docker_example/docker-compose.yml)

   Use the compose file shown above.

3. Save as .env next to the compose file (github.com/langflow-ai/langflow/blob/3ec974b/docker_example/README.md#L26-L28)

   The compose file check ran together with a .env file copied unchanged from the code block in https://github.com/langflow-ai/langflow/blob/3ec974b7ee82d1c1ca630e68547edbde5c64a8a9/docker_example/README.md#L26-L28. The folder held only these files. The Docker example guide tells the reader to create a .env file with the admin password set, then run docker compose up.

   Open http://localhost:7860. The compose file publishes host port 7860 for the langflow service. The guide says Langflow is reachable at this address after docker compose up.

Gotchas and maintenance

Gotchas

• Some images use the latest tag or no tag. Images without a pinned version: langflow: langflowai/langflow:latest. A later pull can get a different version. (github.com/langflow-ai/langflow/blob/3ec974b/docker_example/docker-compose.yml, checked 2026-10-22)
• The compose file publishes host ports. Host ports: 7860 (langflow), 5432 (postgres). A port without a host address listens on all host network interfaces. (github.com/langflow-ai/langflow/blob/3ec974b/docker_example/docker-compose.yml, checked 2026-10-22)
